Apple has acquired SnappyLabs, a one-man Australian startup behind the popular high-tech photo app SnappyCam. The SnappyCam app, which is no longer available in the App Store, let iPhone users capture full-resolution images at up to 30 frames per second, take photographs in a range of aspect ratios and zoom in up to six times on photo subjects.

So can we look forward to some of SnappyCam's cool features in the next-generation iPhone? Shooting at dozens of frames per second, zoom capability and added aspect ratios, perhaps?

In a statement to Recode, Apple was mum on the motivations behind its new purchase.
“Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans,” a company spokesperson said.
