A little late, but here is a list of Purim apps that have been tested. All of these apps were tested on Android 2.3.4 (Motorola Droid 2) and ICS (Android 4.04) (Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX), and Samgsung Galaxy Note II (Android 4.1.1) phone platforms. This section is still unfinished, but we wanted to get out what's been reviewed before the start of the holiday. MORE TO COME SOON!

Gragger (v. 1.0) by Igor Fischer
Type: Application
Cost: Free
Overview: Makes a noise when the phone is shaken.
+Works as described
+Works as described
-Very sensitive to shaking, which makes it impractical for use during actual Megilla reading, as one is likely to set it off by mistkae
-Only one choice of sound, no options whatsoever.
Verdict: Waste of time

Megillas Esther - מגילת אסתר(v. 1.1) by RustyBrick
Type: Application
Cost: Free
Overview: Full Megilla (Book of Esther) with brochos.
+Option to show name of Haman in alternate color.
+Option to show name of Haman in alternate color.
+Includes gragger (five sounds for free and six more available for purchase)
+Gragger has option to allow random sound when phone is shaken
+Bold text where congregation is to read aloud
-Had problems with nekudos (Hebrew vowels) on all three test devices, with different results:
--Droid2 shows no nekudos at all
--RAZR Maxx showed nekudos and dageishim out of place completely
--Note II showed nekudos a little bit closer to where they should be, with dageshim completely out of place and some words spread out in ways they shouldn't be
Verdict: Hard to get around the nekudos problem in an otherwise good, well-rounded app.

Book of Esther (v. 1.6.1) by YourApps
Type: Application
Cost: Free
Overview: Full Megilla (Book of Esther) in actual Torah script with no brochos
+Name of Haman shows in alternate color.
+Name of Haman shows in alternate color.
+One gragger sound included for free (additional at added cost)
-Does not have nekudos (vowels)
-Does not show text said by congregation in bold or alternate color
-Interface is only in Hebrew
-Text is so large that constant scrolling is a must
-Scrolling is not easy
Verdict: Too much scrolling and no nekudos make it not worthwhile in our view

Megillas Esther - Tikkun Korim (v. 1.4.3) by Sharshi Borisute
Type: Application
Cost: Free
Overview: Full Megilla (Book of Esther) with no brochos
+Allows for text size change on the fly
-Not compatible with Android 2.3
-Nekudos are off on both tested devices (worse on the Motorola)
-Must use a slow and sometimes innaccurate and fritzy pull-down menu to advance to the next Perek (chapter), which would take too much time during an actual Megilla reading
-No indication of Haman's name or of the pesukim (verses) that are said aloud by congregation
Verdict: Totally not worth it.
