Would You Want To Live To 120, Really?

I was just reading a news piece on NPR’s web page about the prospect of living for much longer than we currently do. The number the poll they were citing used 120.

After reading the article and the following comments i was hardly torn in my decision. Giving myself the one stipulation of still being able to primarily care for myself without too much assistance i see absolutely no reason to not what to see 120!

I am in constant amazement due to the rapid pace of scientific advancement of today, these things are only growing more and more rapid. I would absolutely love to live to see first contact with another intelligent, hell even an unintelligent life form. I would revel in the sight of seeing humanity set up a colony on another planet or moon. Seeing the first sentient android would be a gift for me!

So yes, i would love to grow super old and watch our race blossom for as long as possible. Give that i can still actively participate in that blossoming. even if it is only through a screen, or whatever we have by then!

So what are your thoughts on the matter? Given that you would be healthy enough to care for yourself, would you want to live to the ripe (rotten) old age of 120?
